This is an excellent look at the history and theology of Calvinism. The debate really centers on the issue of free-will of man versus the depravity of man. Although Calvinism is a term associated with the Reformers, the debate over free-will and total depravity goes back to the early church. This video traces these doctrines from the early church to the present. The video shows how the church has always battled against the heresies of free-will theology and how the church has always considered it a serious threat to the gospel.
The mission of The Council on Biblical Manhood and Womanhood is to set forth the teachings of the Bible about the complementary differences between men and women, created equally in the image of God, because these teachings are essential for obedience to Scripture and for the health of the family and the church.
Albert Mohler’s article on reflecting on the earthquake at Haiti and answering the question: “Does God Hate Haiti?” I particular like where he points out that if God really hated Haiti, there would be no aid or help coming to it; they would be utterly hopeless if God really just hated Haiti.
This message is good for any married man who plans to invest considerable time in ministry. This is set in the context of a church planting conference, but it might as well be anywhere, because it applies to all men who feel called to serve God, and who want to selflessly invest their lives for the cause for the the Gospel.
Carter talks about the marriages of John Wesley, George Whitefield & Jonathan Edwards, and their failures or successes. “You do not plant a church unless your wife shares your calling to plant a church… I don’t care how far you are down the road you are. I don’t care if there’s $100K in the bank. If your wife’s 90% sure and 10% she’s doing it for you, then you shut that sucker down! Because you will wreck your home and you will eventually wreck your church.”
Steve Lawson will be speaking at a local conference on September 13-14, 2010. This is going to be an awesome conference and so convenient for us Bay Area residents.
We are pleased to announce our upcoming Expositors Conference with our guest speaker, Dr. Steve Lawson. The theme of the conference is called “Preaching for a Change” because we as preachers and teachers of the Bible seek to see people changed into the likeness of our Lord Jesus Christ (2 Cor. 3:18) by means of preaching His Word.

A central database with thousands of links to articles, mp3 sermons of various authors, preachers and teachers. This is definitely a good place to browse and learn. The website is well organized into categories and sub-categories, making it easy to find information on nearly any subject under Christendom. The articles have been screened to provide biblically sound instruction. You will find a variety of views on various topics, but you should not find any heretical or fringe teaching that is way off the mark. A good resource to keep bookmarked.
They also have a companion site, Monergism Books, which is an excellent place to buy books too.
